Dr Daan Caudri

MD, PhD, assistant professor Daan Caudri is currently working as Pediatric Pulmonologist and Director at LungAnalysis laboratory, department of Pediatric Pulmonology and Allergology at the Sophia Children’s Hospital, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Dr Caudri obtained a MSc in Clinical Epidemiology and his Medical Degree in 2007 at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He received a Dutch NWO-Toptalent grant for his PhD research on childhood asthma. He completed his Pediatrics training in 2015, and his fellowship in Pediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine in 2018 (Perth Children’s Hospital Western Australia). 

He currently works as a consultant Pediatric Pulmonology, with a joint appointment in Radiology, at the Erasmus MC Rotterdam. He is an active member of the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP) and the ECFS-Patient Registry Scientific Committee. Since 2022 he has been Director of the LungAnalysis laboratory, an image analysis core laboratory at the Erasmus MC. In that role he is working on continuously improving, standardizing, and validating lung image acquisition and quantification in a wide range of pediatric and adult lung diseases, including CF, PCD, BPD, non-CF bronchiectasis, asthma, COPD and ILD. With his research he has the objective of creating a positive impact on people living with chronic lung disease, through collaborative epidemiologic research on state-of-the art lung imaging using manual and AI-supported automated lung image analysis techniques.
