Dr Sara Barmettler

Dr Barmettler is an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and is the Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Program in Primary and Secondary Immune Deficiency. Dr Barmettler has clinical and research expertise in primary and secondary immunodeficiency and is also highly involved in quality improvement and education. 

Dr Barmettler graduated with honours from Amherst College with a BA in Biology and Music.  She studied medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical school, completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and completed her fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Allergy and Immunology. She received her master’s in public health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
