Dr Tadej Avcin

Dr Tadej Avcin is Head of Department of Allergology, Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the Children’s Hospital, University Medical Centre Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Medicine (Slovenia). He studied medicine and paediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and completed fellowship in paediatric rheumatology at the Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto (Canada).

His clinical and research focus are systemic autoimmune and auto-inflammatory diseases with an emphasis on juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic connective tissue diseases and diseases of immune dysregulation. He has published more than 200 indexed publications and 20 book chapters on paediatric rheumatology and immunology. He is currently Secretary of the Paediatric Rheumatology European Association (PReS), past Chairman of the European League Against Rheumatism Standing Committee on Pediatric Rheumatology, and Editor-in-Chief of Pediatric Rheumatology.
